Speaking in terms of racing and practicing. Also, what level of racing are you at? (pro, intermediate or club racing)

Curious also how many hours a week you dedicate to working on your buggy/truggy regarding maintenance and cleaning.

I have used approx. 20-30 gallons of fuel this season. Staring in January and up to this point. I expect to use several more between now and december as I still have several races left.

Thats racing truggy/buggy as well....

I have a shop(The Speed Shop) and we prepare cars/trucks for people all over the country so we spend a lot of time wrenching. I would say between gluing tires, wrench time, etc I would have a good 10-15 hours getting everything ready for a event. Give or take.

I've gone through about 13 or 14 gallons since last November.
I race in the amateur class at Revelation Raceway.

I spend hardly anytime with cleaning or maintenance. After a day of running I blow the car off and put it away. When the shocks feel soft I rebuild them. When the car drives funny I rebuild the diffs.
My maintenance schedule is the best

I have burned through about 14 - 15 gallons this year since Jan. That includes breaking in 4 engines and that is only running the truggy class. I recently started running truggy and buggy and well I go through a lot more fuel now.

16 or 17 gallons for me. Best thing about it is, I have enjoyed running every last drop!

I just got into offroad nitro in Dec of 08 and started racing in march of this year. I've ran through 15 gallons so far with plenty more races to do this year. I service all diff,shock fluids every gallon and a half or so. rebuild clutch,,,ahh every couple gallons..(long wear shoes). I replace all diff bearings when servicing diffs,and replace wheel bearings before big races or every month or so, also replace clutch bearings before every race. And then just the general cleaning of the vehicle. I know i can probably get more miles on the fluids,bearings etc, but better to be safe than sorry.I would say to do diffs, shocks, clutch and good clean takes approx 5 or 6 hrs. And then just to do a quick clean before the next practice day(clean vehicle,filter,quick look over) prob an hour or so.I Usually practice once a week. Coming from racing MX, rc requires way more maintnance, IMO.

i have about 9-10 gallons on one motor so far (engine all stock never opened) engines last a good while when you take care of them plenty of pinch and power so far. the way its running i might be able to 15-18 gallons out of it before i have to replace the piston and sleeve

I just started racing (as well as R/C driving in general) a little less than a month ago and soon I'll be through 2 gallons with my 1/8 buggy including break in. As far as actual running engine time goes, I practice a couple of hours usually and race about an hour every week.

Just club racing.

I probably spend around 10 hours a week doing maintenance/cleaning.

Just broke open my 19th gallon since January.

I run buggy and truggy most all of the time.

Just on my own equipment between running the buggy, truggy and touring car I spend about 20 hours a week on maintaining them.

Like Alan, we spend every other hour of our day working on customers cars, engines and guing tires.

Looks like most of us so far go through about 2 gallons a month.

Good info. No wonder I'm still slow, I just finished my 3rd gallon (for the year) this weekend. I need more track time for sure.

I purchased 2 4 gal. cases in march and have about a gallon & 1/2 left. Closest track is about 2 1/2 hrs away so I built a track on the back of my property for practice(pretty nice track with drivers stand). So I usually only hit the pro series events(sportsman class). I do a fairly quick clean after the races, filter,blow them out etc. enough to continue to practice at home. Then before a race aprox. 12 -13 hrs. This includes tear down, diff fluids, shock oil, engine inspect, wheel balancing, clutch, check and replace bearings if needed and complete clean on buggy & truggy. I only get to hit aprox. 6 races a year.

Not sure how many gallons total, but I've went through at least a gallon every 2 weekends since starting racing this past April, I've only missed like 3 weekends of racing this outdoor season

I have run 7 gal are so this year i race 2 times a month some times 3 times a month i rebuild my shocks ever gallon and give it a good look over and ever 3 gallons i rebuild the hole car diff shocks and all new bearing's.

With all the racing we have done this year so far in Fl, Ga, NC, and Al, I say 10 gals is a fair #, and more to burn !!!!!!!!!!!!!
