New rc8 kit no diff oil HELP
It always happens to me, I got a new AE rc8 kit and started to build the diff and there is no diff oil in the box anywhere. Is there anything else I can use for diff oil in the rc8 for now? like shock oil ?
Thanks, Matt

Shock oils too thin, it won't even lube the diffs.
Maybe you can grease them like the old Hoboa cars came. Don't fill with grease, jus rub it on the gears.
There's got to be a common household item that is about as thick as diff fluid. Shock oil mixed with Crisco cooking grease???????
Didn't the diffs come filled? If you have the 7 and 3 for the other diffs and all you need is fluid for the front. Then just pull that diff and get to your track early. I'm sure someone there will let you borrow a little fluid.
I didn't know RC8s came in a kit form now!

STP thick oil additive (blu bottle) mixed 50/50 with ATF should get you on track safely. seems to be about 3-4k in weight.
But sheesh, this sounds like a bad idea.

Well I finally got the whole story, The guy I bought it from took the diff apart to put a different oil in it when he first bought the kit brand new a week ago. He told me it was brand new, but he did not tell me that he got his hands in it . So I guess I will see if anyone at the track has any oil I buy or borrow.
