Ok today when i started to break in my engine the wheels immeadiately started turnig, but the engine was at a nice idle and i didnt give any gas. An when i did give it throttle the wheels continued to spin after i stopped giving it throttle. When i looked at the clutch bell it seemed like it was twitching and when i put the car on the ground it moved forward a little bit. Whats happening?

Sounds like the clutch is engaging early. You can use heavier springs, or check the condition of the entire clutch assembly. If you are using an used clutch spring, then it could've soften up due to use and heat or been stretched during the disassembly prior. Your idle could be high also, but that's hard to say without seeing it. I'd check your clutch and springs. Also, be sure to debur the clutch shoes while you are working on them. Good luck.

OK Thanks i could have to get better clutch springs. Do you know what kind i would need for breakin? Im not familiar with all the different sizes of springs.

It really depends on the shoe type and vehicle you are using in addition the motor too. I run mugen aluminum's with 1.1 in my truggy and run HB composites with 1.0 in my buggy.

I have the losi 8ight, 4 shoe composite and os v spec. Is that any help?

sounds like to me that your clutch bell is locked down(not shimed properly) or you have a bearing locked up.

Could the problem be that i dont have a shim in between the large clutch bearing and the clutch nut?

it could be. is the clutch bell rubbing on the flywheel? if so move some shims from the front to the rear, or at least one.

Slayyer is spot on. This has happened a few times at our local track. After reshimming, start it up, hold the buggy down so it won't move and give it some gas until you feel it try to move. do this in 2 second burst for a couple of times and it will help seat the clutch shoes. Both of these should give you an idle with no wheel spinning.

Another way to check is with the motor out, check the flywheel to see if there are any marks that would indicate the clutchbell rubbing the flywheel. You should also be able to spin the clutchbell freely without it hitting or rubbing anything.
