new to truggy
Looking to get a 1/8th truggy, and wondered what everyone recommends. There is HB, Losi, Mugen, OFNA, Tamiya, etc.
The HB is pretty cheap, but how does it compare to the other $500+ chassis? Thanks

Personally I love my losi 2.0. But lately I keep gettng beat by hot bodies. Their truck is a sold truck for the money. IDK how they will hold up long term but I know several guys that are happy with them. Personally I like the lsi 2.0 or the mugen mbx6t. I know these companies have done their homework and are in for the long haul. Losi always seems to be on the cutting edge of the tech and then everyone else sems to follow. I like new tech.

I have and really like the Losi 2.0
But have been wondering how the RC8T is

The losi 2.0 is a more forgiving truck, and is easier to drive fast. The RC8T is a bit harder to drive fast but thrives on the ragged edge and really shines when you are a good enough driver to push it to its limits.

If I were getting a new truggy, I would just get the 1.0 losi and pick up a used or BCE 2.0 chassis and 2.0 shock towers and you basically have 2.0 performance without the 2.0 pricetag.

I would say the Losi Tuggy. Alot of people are running the losi so if you break something at a race you and dont have the part you have a lot better chance that someone racing will vs one of the other brands. If money is a issue the Hot bodys d8 i would say.

Most of the time people are just gonna answer this type of question with what they personally drive. If I were you, and familiar with the racing scene, try to get as many people with different manufactures to let you drive theirs. I think each particular type of truggy, and more importantly "set-up", fits each persons driving style differently. They all can win with the correct set-up in capable hands.

As far as wear and tear, everybody has got their own opinion about that. They are all made of plastic and aluminum, both of which will wear out with use. Dependability and breakage... They all break if you hit something hard enough in the right places.

Drive as many as you can, and find what feels comfortable to you.

As for me, I like my RC8T! It's funny, I've seen people post that it drives like a dump truck. All I gotta say is that it's one fast dump truck!!

I can't comment on the other brands because I've never driven them.
