Default RB WS9 or Novarossi 21-5k ??

I hate to ask but I have ran RB's for the last 5 years and love'em, but need a new engine and I am looking at a Houston modded 21-5K and the new RBWS9
It's going into a MBX6.
Again I hate these this one vs that one threads just looking for some un-bias help, Thanks Joe

when i read your thread title i was all ws9 for sure. then reading a houston mod 21-5k i leaned that way...either are great choice. if the novarossi was modded for efficiency id jump that way also considering support from houston. thats a tuff choice you got there good luck with it

id get as many details from houston as possible. considering you know how the sw9 is going to act youll be able to weigh which engine is correct for your style

From a general perspective, I've owned both RB and am now running Nova. For as long as Nova's are available I will never think twice about buying them, much better engines

I always thought RB's were made by Nova for the most part and some by Sirio

RB's are made by Novarossi, so you thought was correct. I would say WS9 and RB 45% nitro.

I got the 21-5K on order with the R2R break-in, and some mods to try and get some more runtime. Now I am wondering if I want to get a turbo head done up for it??? Any ideals?
I have heard the standard plug version has a very smooth, electric like feel to the power band and the turbo one is more of a handful to drive.

I've never run the turbo version, but you are correct about the feel of the standard one. It also greatly depends on the pipe you use. The best performing pipe I have seen on the 21-5K is the sirio based 2013's (Sirio, Werks, Extech, etc...).

not very good mileage though

ofna 063 is one of the very best pipes i have ran on the 21-5k , i still also stand by my other pipe choices = dynamite 086hs (novarossi 9886/41021or41020 for a little more low end grunt) , ofna 053 (novarossi 9853/41005)

the low end based pipes have much better mileage with a sacrifice of a little top end screaming power which is where your fuel gets expelled the most .

I stand corrected.

I haven't personally run the 2013, so I don't know about milage. I was just going by observation of my buddies that run them. Plus they have "that sound".
