Alternative Plug Choices For the Nova .21 Limited
With some recommedations I am planning on buying the Nov .21 3 port limited for my son. His mach RTR is finally toast and will not hold a tune and will not stop flamming out.
From what people have said this engine is easy to tune never flames out and has enough power for mostly everything.
Will this engine only take a Nova #6 plug or can another manufacture be used. If so what plug would you recommend other than the nova #6.
I will be using an 086 pipe on it since I already have one.

the nova rossi n21bf is a little monster and will run well on the od plug thats what i ran in mine for 11 gals until i bought the + 4. Great motors and you can get one from Manty for like 200.00 modded.

I hear OD plugs work but haven't tried them. I can tell you that Sirio plugs are FANTASTIC in Nova motors.

Every plug out there has a slightly different taper. Some still work well, some sort of work, some don't work at all. For example, never run a Nova plug in an OS. It will leak.
Nova motors dominate onroad racing but their plugs aren't anywhere near as good as they used to be so most onroad racers have been trying other plugs. GRP's seem to be the best of the ones that fit well but they are getting hard to find. Sirios fit flush, don't leak, perform beautifully and last ten times longer.
It's kind of odd that Sirio plugs fit so well because if you go the other way and put a Nova plug in a Sirio, the plug doesn't quite go all the way flush. It sits up above the chamber just a bit but still runs fine and doesn't leak.

when running standard buttn i had best luck with odo97 or 99
personally i wouldnt run anything else in a bf2000

Od plugs seem to work very well for me as well in all my motors nova 21-4 and both my nova n21bf's .

MC #59 or #8 med best plug for that motor I ran that motor for my spring series and took second over all and I have these plugs the hole time I could run to weekends on one plug no problem.
