Latest Hobby Shop Visit

Hello everyone,

Ok so I went to my local hobby shop last night to buy a starter kit which includes a glow igniter and charger, 4 star socket wrench for tires and glow plug, screw driver (not that I needed one) and fuel bottle all for $32.95 AUD. I was quite impressed because ive known hobby shops to be on the expensive side.

Also bought 4 litres of fuel 20% nitro which is what they recomended and some after run oil. I also found out they make their own fuel, claim its fresher this way. $52 got me 4 litres which I though was on the expensive side but I havent been in the game for a long time.

Also found out my local track has closed which is a bummber because it was a good track, I helped build it many years ago.

Well this hobby shop has been in our area for over 15 years and is a 2 min drive from my place, the next hobby shop is a 20 min drive so id buy their fuel anyway, but now that I know thats an average price I feel allot better.

I hope 4 litres will last me at least 3 weeks, I only plan to use it on weekends and not more than 3 tanks a day.

Well you should definitely get at least three weeks out of 4 litres if you on do say 3 tanks a day 2 days a week.

Well I can easily justify the price of fuel then.

I cant see me doing more than 3 tanks a day 2 days a week, I never did anything close to that in my road car, although that one didnt last long.

Whats the advantage in running a higher nitro content?

Holy crap I thought $35 agallon in california was unacceptable,Forget a vacation down under.

how many litres in a gallon?

everything is cheaper in the states. I sit next to a guy at work that is into r/c model aircraft, builds just about everything himself but buy all servos etc from the states, says they are always 1/4 of the price or cheaper!

US gallon = 3.79 litres
Imperial gallon = 4.42 litres

If you want offroad nitro RC in Melbourne then the only track is at Sunshine.

Weather permitting, we should be racing on the 26th.

Cache Ya,
Craig.

Ok so thats a fair bit cheaper than what I paid, oh well cant do anything about it.

Going to start running mine in tonight but its freezing outside, prolly good, no chance in overheating my new toy.

I will fill you all in on Monday how it went, hopefully fully run in come Monday.

I went into a local shop here in Nevada yesterday and they had a gallon of Odonels with a tag of $41 on it.

Guess that's why I buy by the case in California

Semple 07-17-2009 05:26 AM

$50 Canadian per gallon is the norm.

sperera 07-17-2009 05:31 AM
