Default quick question conserning diffs

Hey guys!

Yesterday I took my kyosho DBX out for a spin and I did some crazy donuts. I was thinking about taking off the front differential to try doing it at 2wd but do I need to take off the diffs between the front wheels? or is it just the one from the main gearbox to the front gearbox.

You can remove the front CVD drive shaft that goes from the center diff to the front one..That will give you rear wheel drive only

like jaz said, you can take of the front shaft off (the one that goes to the diff) or you can take out the front two dog bones, i personally would do both because then the front wheels arent being dragged down by the diff

Taking out the drive shafts alone will not work the diffs apply power to the side that has the least resistance. You will have to lock your center diff if you remove the front drive shaft.

yes you will have to "lock" your out put on your center diff to get just rear wheel drive.. if you don't, all your power will go to the least resistence, the front, and all you'll do is not move.. had this happen when either a front or rear shaft breaks, and all you get is an engine revving up and not moveing...

If you remove the front diff or driveshaft you will not get any power to the rear wheels unless you lock the center diff.

You can put some RTV in the center also to lock. But by locking it this way its not something that is easy to reverse if you want to go back to 4wd.

Since you didn't realize all of the work involved, I take it you probably won't be doing this anytime soon?
4 wheel drive donuts look cooler anyway sort of like a dog chasing it's tail

Have fun either way, just don't burn up a diff overdoing it
