Jammin JPX 21 pipe

I just bought my first .21 after running .28s for years. I race on a small, but techincal track and was wondering about the best pipe to fit my new Jammin .21. I have already a Jp-1 and a 3, also a Dynamite 086. :)

053 pipe will give you more bottom end, but the engine really screams on top with the 086

i run mine on a jp3 pipe and it runs really good. gots ton of power from bottom to top.

I also run the jp3 & it's good. The 086 had great bottom but not much mid & NO top. I am going to try the 053 next race & see how it does. BTW you did notice in the instructions that it is shimmed for 20 % not 30 %. I have talked to several guys that didn't know & ran 30 % that complained that it only lasted 1 gallon. Just thought i'd give you a heads up.

JPX .21

how do you shim it for 30%? pm me. id like to know more becuase i use the JPX .21 and run 30%

sideways88 07-12-2009 02:54 PM

also would like to know how many shims should you use on the jpx. i got mine free form a buddy and all it needed was a pinch. but i switched it to a standard plug and it had to be shimmed like my picco evo2 was. but i want to put it back to turbo but dont have the shimes any more.

thanks

ps sorry to thread jack

i have been running the jammin engines for years and i used to check the deck hieght and it was always between 21 and 24 thousanths so i dont even bother now and my motors last forever and i run 30% werks.

i also run the JP1 i feel like the motor is just really crisp with this pipe. if you have a very large track then i would recomend the JP4. npote i have not tried anything but teh Jammin pipes but i heard the 053 works really well also.

i'm using the hobao 21 pipe (off 8.5 kit) and am getting about 10 minutes (truggy) in the 250's, plenty from bottom to top and no one will pass me. next i will try the jp-4 and compare.

sideways88 07-12-2009 09:32 PM

with my jp3 i only get like 7:30 and thats in a buggy.

Maximo 07-12-2009 09:36 PM

086 is by far the best pipe.....

thats me what up monty?

Rune time- i get anywhere from 8 1/2 to 11 depending on the track and how heavy on the trottle i am. lol. i can pit at 9min on most tracks no problem. i have pitted at 10 at one race but im just scared to do it most of the time.

the other day i went out and drove my car as hard as i could and i got 9min 40 sec.

what people need to realize about runtime is that the number one factor is you throttle finger. if you drive smooth you can get great milage. if you are not the best driver on the planet and you can't go full wood in a lot of spots that the top drivers can, than you will get better milage. if you are full punch everywhere than run time will not be so good. track size is also a very large factor. i have heard some people talk about getting 15+ min and i would like to be at the track to see that. i could put around and probably get 20min. lol. i think run time in real driving condition without restricting the throttle endpoints is whats important.

are there engines that get better milage than the Jammin .21? yes but they will cost you twice as much and all you will gail is runtime the jammin engine have all kinds of power and great reliability.

i just bought a jpx(should have tomorrow). i have all pipes listed above w/manifolds etc...so il run the 086 with bouble bend short(shows like 10+ minutes). where im torn is with an os plug. should put in jpx thread but this is current. im gonna just snug a p3(i have a half dozen). you guys really sorted out the probs of os plugs in jpx thread...am i asking for problems or what?

slayyer 07-13-2009 12:51 PM

hey, i would like to know what glow plug everyone uses in their JPX .21. i use the picco hot turbo plug. $20 a piece. they work great. but price is outrageous!
