Default Can i use a 4s 14.8v lipo to power a starter box.

All,

im trying to find the facts about using a 14.8v lipo to power my single 775 ofna starter box.

Im aware that a 4s fully charged will be around the 16.8v mark and that people have been using the 2 stick packs so im sure that i must be possible

can people tell me if they are using this setup.

Cheers
Leigh

i have been told that because it is only a single motor it cant handle the voltage if there were 2 motors wired in parallel then no problems

i think im gonna give it a try if it goes up in smoke then ill have to buy a new motor. i cant see why it wont work

more info would be great.

If your box normally uses a gell cell or 2-stick packs than the lipo will not be a problem. A gel cell is 12.6(actually a little higher when charged) and 2 stick packs are 14.4(actually closer to 16+ when charged) so a 4s lipo or a pair of 2s lipos wont be a problem.

Dont worry be happy.....

I use this 14.8v lipo on my Q-World starter box and I can crank up any brand new engine with it...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=250415873620

lasts the whole race day as well.
