Would a trx 2.5r engine be enough power for a slayer? Not racing, just bashing. Money is tight and I need new engine, I can get the 2.5 for 50 bucks less than the 3.3 at the lhs.

The 2.5 is still a pretty good engine. It doesn't have the punch off the line like the 3.3 (so don't expect as many wheelies ;)), but it's still got heaps of top end. I did find that my 3.3's ran a bit cooler than the 2.5 as well. The 2.5 should be good enough if you can't afford the 3.3. I ran a 2.5 revo for quite some time, and it was heaps of fun.
