Hitec servo issues need HELP
I'm running hitec servos in my truggy.Steering hitec HS-7955TG works great.Throttle hitec HS-985mg and when ever its powered it makes a loud humm Almost like you have to much EPA but louder after about 15 sec the servo starts to get HOT.I played with different RX ports and still does it.I can get it to stop by applying brake very slowly then once i move it again it begins to humm again????????????????????????????????Any suggestions

throttle/brake servo takes more of a beating than the steering servo

If I'm not mistakin, thats a analog servo. If you have a radio with HRS mode, make sure it is OFF. It will fry analog servos. Digitals only in HRS. Trust me, I'm speaking from personal experience.

You will need to run both digital servos if you want to use that mode. Analog servos are better for throttle/ break as they are not as finicky with the linkage, but both digital allow the radio to run its full potential. I have run all digital for the last season and this season without problems.

Most good servos are able to handle HRS mode for a while,at least long enough to figure out something is wrong.Dont take what was sad earlier too seriously the 985 is not really a bad servo its just that we all have been spoiled by the new seryos that came out in the last few years. The 985 will never be a 7955 but its also 1/2 the price & would be considered one of the best servos 5yrs ago. Over kill is just the norm now is all. When you say hot if you mean wow thats unusual the servo should be fine, but if you mean it burned my finger when I touched it send it in before it dies in the middle of an expensive race day.

But they should not get hot just sitting idle.

I only hade the 9855 plugged in for about 30 sec i was just installing it in my truggy.I reilized something was wrong right away.It didnt get so hot that it burned my fingure but it was hot enough to be surprisedLike i said i switched off HRS and now its fine I was just going to run it but if you guys think theres a chance it may be done maybe i wont
