Default eb modded head distorting plugs

Hi my ninja jx is slightly distorting glow plugs, it is running slightly on the rich side with no play in the rod, however it did not start distorting plugs until i put in an eb modded head. I installed the head with the supplied shim and it runs great but just keeps distorting plugs has anyone else had this problem? and does anyone have a solution as i would like to keep running the modded head.
Cheers

+1 .1 shim

And for the record, what fuel are you running?

DO NOT ADD ANY SHIMS! RUN ONLY THE ONE 0.004 SHIM.
the button is NOT the reason your blowing plugs.. Try a different fuel, and or get a better tune on your engine.
what plugs are you using???

when you say 'distorting' what do you mean?

did you re-tune when you changed the button?

Sounds like a tuning issue to me. I use this head button on a speed and only use the shim enclosed with the eb head button. Works perfectly. If you are distorting the wire in the plug sounds like its too lean.

i run it on byrons gen 2 25% with p3 plugs. It seems to be tuned fairly spot on but slightly on the rich side (plenty of smoke and light brown coloration on plug body and wire) When i say plug distortion i mean very slight distortion of the wire and will still run fine but obviously do not want to run with a distorted plug. It never did this with the standard head and used the original plug for the first gallon and a half then put the new head button in and i go through a plug every race day.
cheers

I had a GRP do exactly that to the P3 plugs. It would run flawlessly on race day and then the next day have trouble starting. I would replace the plug and then it would fire right up. Tuning was good, slightly rich if anything, temps good and pleanty of smoke. I switched to a P4 like Joe says to do and then the problem was solved. I dont have that problem with the speed with an EB mods head button the P3 plug works fine. Then again the P3 plug was designed for the speed engine. Bottom like like Joe said switch to a P4.

a modded head button will automaticlly lean the motor, go to a cooler plug like JP said and you will be good, the motor is burning the fuel much more affectivly with the new button while creating more power, we are running the 97T and they haul the mail. Good luck
