Default Looking for an opinion on Skid Plates and a BumpSkid

I am looking at these products from amain and wanted to hear people's opinions - do they really protect the chassis or are they a gimmick?

DER-208-L - DE Racing BumpSkid (Losi 8ight/8T/2.0)
DER-107-L - DE Racing Rear Skid Plates (3) (8B/8T)

they work great. i use them on my d8 buggy and the spots where they are, are still brand new.

they fronts last longer than the rear, but i still got about a gallon per rear pad i think.
