Please help the Inexperienced!!!
I purchased a losi 8ight 1.0 used and trying to convert bo bump start from roto start. I got the back plate on and do not hear any rubbing in the motor but the engine was too high. I change to a 8ight 2.0 motor mounts but the box is still about 2-3 mm to low. Someone told me to try a mount by kink headz??, and said this would work. Does anyone want to tell me from experience or share if this will work? I just dont want to drop another 50 bucks on the mount and it be a simple fix.
Thanks

What bump box are you using? make sure its meant for 8th scale

Sounds like the wrong flywheel to me also.
Other possibilities is the wheel needs to be adjusted higher in box, or a severely worn out wheel.

The hing headz mount dont sit any lower then stock its just a better mount. Ur issues is either the flywheel is incorrect(not losi) or ur starter box wheel is adjusted to low or if its used theres a great chance its worn down. Its not the mount or engine, thats a flywheel or starter box issue.

One other thing that no one has mentioned is just making sure that the opening in the chassis for the engine flywheel is centered over the starter box wheel.

Flywheel is stock. Im using 2.0 mounts(shorter than the 427 and have the backplate on. I tryed to bump it and the wheel looks as if if the wheel is being stopped by the chassis. I read another thread that says they had to mill the hole a bit bigger because of the same problem. I just wasn't sure if the kings mounts were shorter, and if anyone had encountered this.

I had that same issue when I wen to losi using a bump start enine with an ofna chrome top box. I ended up raising the mech inside the box that the wheel spins on so the wheel stuck out more. Solved the issue with that box. Btw never had an issue with the ofna blue truggy box on losi.
Take the engine out and line up the box so you can see the wheel come through then try it again. I don't think the kHz mount is shorter.

I tried it with the motor off. Its actually stopping the starter box because its rubbing the chassis. It's an ofna box if that helps. It looks like I have everything else right but have to grind the slot out a bit. Will it hurt how the car handles? Or, do you have and other suggestions? All your help has been very greatful thus far.

Its actually easy with a dremel. Get a nice big grinding bit and just go to work on the slot the flywheel sits in. It does take awhile and you should completely take apart your car so all you have is the chassis. You dont want any of those metal shavings working their way into any other parts. Wear glasses and have at it. Keep grinding and testing it on the box and you will see when its good.

Strike two...
Ok everyone, this was actuall an error on my part because the mounts on the box were not right. I have the blue box. Next issue:
I got everything back together(did not try to roll the car)
The wheels are locked when trying to roll them all the same direction. You can roll two but not all four. Please don't give me any bad news. Also, I thought that I got a good deal on a car that ran, buying a 1.0 for $220. I received it today and it has the spin backplate also. I tryed to spin in and when it goes to engage fast it is only spinning. Not turning the motor over.
Thanks
