RC8T or MBX6T?

Can I have (as unbiased as possible) a comparison of the two in terms of:

drivability
durability
tunability
overall

would I honestly notice a difference? Pretty much all race level 1/8 stuff looks the same to me

What I meant earlier was that it seems all of the top level 1/8 stuff is pretty close in terms of performance, with small pros and cons with each.

every buggy/truggy has there pro's and con's=Top level I mean. So go whith which is easier to get spares for in your area. And another plus if a mate is running for instance the RC8T-I would get that. So then you would have a higher chance of someone having a spare, if you dont.. my view...

Good advice!

Since I've only owned buggies, I probably wouldnt know the difference in terms of how one truggy feels compared to the next, so they're all more or less comparable, only differences in performace being small (assuming it is a race level kit and not RTR stuff), and parts availibility?

There are handling differences. But setup can play a big role.

I have a RC8T and I love it. Up until last week I wouldn't trade it for anything...up until I drove a MBX6T. It it much easier to drive...not always faster - just easier. I am more of a point and shoot driver and it suited my style well.

If I was buying right now I'd get the 6T - I am sicking with my RC8T for now though.

There are not going to be to many honest opinions. Comparing the 2 the Mugen just came out. To really pass judgment on the Mugen in fairness you need to wait 4 months to ask this question. How much can you find out about a ride when it's been out less than a month.

Mugen has done their homework there is a reason why there is a 6 in the trucks name. I saw a MBX6T last weekend and it looked really good. It drove more like the losi 2.0 which just smokes everything at the track right now. With these 2 choices I would go with the Mugen. AE is on their first attempt to break into the 1/8 scale market. The RC8 is a great car but it has areas that need durability improvements. Mugen on the other hand has been in the 1/8 scale market for quite a while, they have done their homework and it shows. My vote is for the MBX6T (and I am a losi guy)

ive haqd both, u might as well dig a grave for the associated

arm2storm 06-18-2009 05:29 PM

Mugen is very easy to drive and the on power steering is amazing, I've never driven an rc8t but I come from driving an xt8 08" and it's alot better than the xray.

Bigedmond 06-18-2009 08:08 PM

RC8t is a great truck. The mugen is newer. Honestly, if i was buying a new truggy right now, it would be a Losi. The mugens still cant beat the Losi truggy.

Oh, the RC8T has never had a durability issue. Parts are cheaper to buy, and more shops will support it.

CaptainHowdyt13 06-18-2009 08:17 PM

I bought the MBX6T....I;ve heard Mugen stuff is almost indestructible as it is.

Cheaper parts = cheaper quality = slop = AE
