If you are talking about the superbrain 959/960, it is a good charger for nimh and nicd, but if you ever plan on going lipo you may want to spend the money on a lipo compatible charger from the get go. I know I wish I would have.
This is IMO one of the best.

I would advise you to stay away from Lipos for awhile they are a whole new thing to learn and they need to be balanced and charged and you cant let them discharge too much or they are shot...they can also be very dangerous, and you can burn up your entire car..
here is the charger I use, and it works great..will charge any NiMH or NICD battery, and also gel cells..This is all you will need unless you switch to Lipo in the future.

Theres no such thing as a fast trickle charge Dreaux..trickle is meant to be slow and steady..allowing the battery to take more charge, and not overheat..

I agree about the LCD screen. I like to see exactly what is going on. Without a screen you can't see what the charger is doing.
The suprebrain 959/960 is a great charger for the money. Try to get the 960 because it has much better buttons. The 959 buttons wear out quickly. It has a screen, and is very easy to use. Never false peaks and can be plugged into the wall or a 12V DC source. I still use my 959 on a weekly basis to charge my reciever packs and glo ignitors. If you can get it for $50 it's a steal.

I have a MRC 977 and a hyperion 606. The 977 I have says it will charge 1-3 cel lipo, I know the new charger says it wont. The 977 charger is great because it will charge 2 different batteries even 2 different types at the same time at different rates. It is missing a cycle function.
The hyperion 606 is my favorite charger. It is silent and provides a superior charge to the batteries. I am not sure why, but when I charge my glow igniter with the 977 the meter does not register as high as when I charge with the hyperion. This is just something I have noticed.
If you have a power supply then hyperion makes a dual charger (610) if not then I would get 2 606's. I will get another one as soon as I switch to lipo on the receiver pack. I am just waiting for the hitec 7950 servos to be released.
