Default Question about RX antenna

Does the antenna on a 2.4Ghz Rx really need to go through the tube and out side the car? just wondering if I left the wire inside the radio box if that would shorten my rang at all.

Some here at the track run theirs in, I run mine under the body, it sticks up about 3 inches.

Really?
I'll have to read up on the React then, it has an absolutely massive antenna.

+1 on 2-3 inches tall and under the truggy body. It's sooo nice to have it short and out of the way!! Bonus..you loose less caps too!

Read the React manual, right in it the manual states, and I quote, "DO NOT CUT the antenna."

Which sucks, because it can't fit in a normal antenna tube, and it almost touches the motor if I tuck it under.

Looks like I'll be doing a range test with it tucked in the receiver box tomorrow.

Default Me too

My son and I both run our Spektrum 2.0 on our Losi 8ight-T RTR's under the body and I have gone up to a full football field away and have had no problems. Just keep the pack charged for the RX and fresh batts in the TX.

spectrum dsm can be cut to 3.6 inches according to the paperwork. I run all of mine about this or a little longer without any issues. Cant speak for any other brands though.
