IMO stick with the P3's. I run P3's in my v-spec with 20% odonnell fuel and have had the stock P3 plug last through break-in and 5 gallons of racing. The second P3 that replaced it is on 3 gallons now. The origional plug still glows and would run, but it was time for a new one. Just gives you an idea.
Plugs should really be changed a LOT more often than that, but it never gave me trouble so I never changed it. |

Personally for me, I use OS plugs in all my v-specs.
P6, if it's 70 degrees or under, or a cool, really humid night. P4, if it's 70-85 degrees P3, above 85 degrees I don't know that the OS plugs are any better than the others, but they have always treated me well, so if it's not broke, then why fix it. Brad |
I use a p3 plug and 20% trinity fuel

I ran by the v-spec manual the other day and was reading it. It says you actually need 2 liters of fuel to break in a v-spec=16 tanks:eek::eek: I dont believe it takes that much to break a v-spec in??? Am i the only one that finds 16 tanks very high for a break in?? I only ran 7-8 tanks for break in and it runs good, consistently around 185-190 degrees. BTW, is it recommended to get a v-spec around the 190-200 degree mark when your breaking it in? Heard that if u dont reach that temp, the rod will just stretch and will do you no good?? |
my fellow racer runs a p3 with 30 percent sidewinder in his OS. Never had a problem with it. It makes me want to buy an OS because i suck at tuning.
