Questions?? CARB QUESTION

Ok, since I didn't get any answers in the Tuning Guide area, I thought I'd post this here. I got a tuning question for you. Do all Long LSN carbs adjust the same way? Reason for asking is that I run Go Motors and some have the Long LSN. I know when people have problems with carbs the first one they resort to usually is an O.S. carb because they tune easy.. Well, I was looking over an O.S. carb today and I see they Too are Long LSN carbs. Atleast the 2 I have are. So they should tune the same as a Go Long LSN carb or vice-versa correct? Just something that made me go hmmm..

What Go engine are you running? Did you went to Go website for the manual? The LSN depends on what fuel, pipe, manifold and the plug you use.

It's not a question about Go carbs but Long LSN carbs in general. I have my Go carbs tuned just fine. But I was looking at one of my O.S. carbs and I see it is also a Long LSN carb and wondered if they all tune the same way because most of the time people switch to O.S. carbs because they are easy to tune. But if ALL LONG LSN CARBS tune the same way, why would tuning a GO carb be any different than an O.S. carb?

I'm not sure if you're asking whether 2 hours on an OS carb will be the same as 2 hours on a GO long needle carb. If you are, I doubt they'd be the same. Any difference in thread gauge on the needle, taper of the needle, diameter of the needle relative to the fuel inlet, and probably 10 other things I'm not thinking of right now would affect how sensitive a given carb is to a needle adjustment.

No, what I was getting at was on a Go carb with the Long LSN, you leave the HSN fat and do the adjusting with the LSN. On carbs with Short LSN you do most of the adjusting with the HSN. I noticed O.S. carbs have a Long LSN and wondered why they seem easy to tune yet people have a hard time with Go carbs.

Ok, if the O.S. carbs tune the normal way with a Long LSN why doesn't a GO? I guess I'm trying to understand why if they Both appear to have a Long LSN, why do they tune differently? Thanks!
