CaptainHowdyt13 05-10-2009 04:05 PM

actually...it says it comes with wiring for 12v power, so does this mean I can just plug it directly into my power supply?

Jaz240 05-10-2009 04:12 PM

Losi box $80...crap....Ofna box $95...awesome!

I dont see twice as expensive anywhere..Get what you want, but don't say we didn't tell ya so;)

Jaz240 05-10-2009 04:13 PM

You can plug a battery into the side, or a glow starter, or charge the interior battery, but you cannot plug it into an outlet..yes if you have a power supply that regulates you can plug it in to that

The Ofna box is awesome, throw in some lipo power, its insane!
However, I prefer this one: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/1743

But that's just me....

There's a special on it. If you add it to your cart, it's $50.

I think my power supply is 20 amps, think that would be enough to run my ICE and this thing at the same time? It's a 20A, 13.7V dual output power supply

casevac 05-10-2009 04:22 PM

read the reviews....

Jaz240 05-10-2009 04:23 PM

sorry bud, when it comes to electronics I am clueless, maybe someone else can help with that. I am pretty sure if your power supply can be adjusted down to 12 volts, you can plug it into your box, and skip the batteries, but I am not sure

LOL I believe you..

Just trying to figure out if it will work with my power supply or if I need batteries.

beginner4life 05-10-2009 04:26 PM

are u ever gonna run ur car not at ur house? My guess is yes, which means u need batteries.

casevac 05-10-2009 04:28 PM

throw in two stickpacks, 20C will do fine....
14,8V is better than 12, a good box (mugen/ofna) will easily survive 18V as well.
Just make sure you dont discharge to much, so lots of mAh is a good thing, at least 3000.

But even two 3000mAh NiMh will do

Most starter boxes can run up to 14.8 volts, no need to knock down the voltage. My friend runs 14.8 LiPo in his starter box damn thing could turn over a small block Chevy, and it weighs nothing!
