Default reciever and battery problems

today my reciever battery went dead and my throtle went bazerk wide open (lucky it was on the starter box) Then i would turn it back on the light would blink and go out. I figured that the battery was dead, but when i just pluged it in it works fine????? I have had it on for like 30 minutes now. works great. What is the problem? Airtronics m11 with spectrum 93824. it's been wet out. but reciever has been wraped in a baloon. also when i turn my trasimtter off and the car reciever/battery is still on the is no light but if i turn the wheels or throtle with my hand the light glows a little. do i have a bad reciever???

I can't run my car like this obviously. Help???? Man i can't wait for football season.

Please don't run your car in water. If water got inside the receiver, that's where your glitch came from. Water causes havoc on electronics unless they are fully sealed. If water did get in, take the receiver out of the car, open it up and let it dry. Don't run any power through it until it dries.

were you doing this in the rain? your transmitter and receiver communicates via RF signals. i'm an electrical engineer and based on my studies, RF signals + water = possible glitchfest. maybe your receiver doesn't output lights unless it is receiving commands from the transmitter or is telling the servos to move to certain positions. this would explain why your receiver's lights went out and pulled on the throttle. it might have lost communication with your transmitter and went to a failsafe or default position, which happens to be wide open throttle. might want to re-peak your rx and tx batteries to make sure those aren't the problem either. try testing this stuff on a dry day and see if it happens. try to see if your radio has a failsafe feature that you can set to make sure that if your receiver loses comms with your tx that the servo wont go open throttle on you. oh and rebind your tx and rx, the spread spectrum algorithm might have gone out of sync. rebinding should refresh it.

water getting into the servos can short out the rx also. let everything sit and dry for a day or 2 then try again and stay out of the water.
