i got lucky my girl digs it but wants me to spend a bunch of money on her 1/18th scale since i have mamba she want mamba so somtimes it can be bad!

Here's my advice...lay a pile of coke and opened and spilled bottles of beer, porno mags, a lotion bottle and piles of crumpled tissues, a bucket of chicken with bones scattered all over while watching midget porn doing a horse...while wearing the dirtiest wife beater you own.
...and on one side, a neat pile of R/C parts with your car all shiny and clean and everything organized. Then ask her the question..."Which do you choose honey, (BUUUUUURP!) which do you choose?"

You guys are nuts, I guess I am old school, I never lived with my wife until I was married, so before that she didn't have a whole lot of say what I did in my own spare time. After I was married I dragged her all over the place traveling while I was racing motocross & she loved it. Now that I run rc 's (truggy & buggy) she gets a little upset about the 6-7 thousand a year I spend but she still pits for me at the races and this is after 18 yrs. of marriage. Just get your priorities straight

it was stated earlier 2 directions sir ,people should understand that this hobby is not a everyday basis .........imo if i visit the track on sats. meet the fellow racers.............. i would say the stress are gone from work from your g.f. lol & thats the important you got to spend time on ur self & this hobby

A couple of good points were made in this thread.
1. train her up right and early. this applies to you as well.
2. Us time, You time and her time.
3. She needs to have interest of her own.
You need to set aside time for RC. I told my wife of 18 years I'm racing on tuesdays my day off and thursdays. My other day off is Saturdays and thats hers and hers alone. I get my A$$ up get dressed go down stairs and wait. Soon as she gets up which is hours after I do. I say what do you want to do today. What ever she says thats what I am doing. The other days of the week my butts home with her and the kids. Got her to the point now on tues and thursdays she has me a lunch packed for the track.
Her birthdays coming so I'm working allot of OT at work and gonna make it right for her. Like I would make it right by my RC addiction. Which sets me up to spend mucho money on my RC addiction with no questions asked.
My wife has other interest like a book club she belongs to. She does allot of church activities too. Like choir and bible study during the week and she like to work out.. So it works out for me. Not to mention I'm quite the character around the house so we laugh allot. I still get fussed at about the usual clothes on the floor and anything she deems I need to be fussed at about. Which is cool cause I love my wife and realize that women like to fuss. If she wasn't fussing I would know somethings really wrong.
You can't expect to have a good GF or wife when your not acting like a good BF or husband. Train yourself up as well quit thinking your sh*t don't stink.

I was with my wife for 10 years and the nagging never got better. She was an insecure woman without many friends. She was co-dependent also. I worked, I cooked, I cleaned, I took care of the kids. I did not party or go to bars. I was faithfull to her. It didnt matter what I did, what mattered is what I didnt do. She was always nagging. After awhile of this I started planning my escape. After about a year of planning I had $5000 in my locker at work. We had bought 3 acres together (already had a home), bought a new truck for me and car for her. One day she was at work (shes an er nurse) I called and told her I was leaving. She said " where you going ", I said no you dont understand, IM LEAVING !!! 2 of my friends were at the house and helped me load a trailer with the minimal stuff I could call my own. Which was not much. I let her have the house, I took the 3 acres. We split all bills, I clame my son odd years on taxes, she claims even years. I have him 50% of the time not every other weekend. A person (man or woman) cant take it long without becoming unhappy so make sure each of your have time together and time apart or it will never work.

I am 33 she is 33, it's my money and she is very good to me. BUT!! it's not spending the money, its the time. We went out to a awsome restaurant last night and i bought her some cloths after. SHe has shut up and i can go to the track today!!!!

Well i am 26 and ahve been racing for a steady 17yrs. That is one thing that is not going to change, I have lost many pretty decent gf's over it. But one thing that they never seemt to grasp and I hope your woman does for the relationship's sake. Is that we (men) are stubborn, we want to play and play we shall. Now she also needs to understand the time and money spent is nothing compared to the time, money, and health risks involved with frequenting bars (I am also a bartender).
So she can have you come home dirty smelling like nitro or have you come home smashed, super broke and smelling like a $2 prostitute. Its her call. They usually do one of two things when you put it in those terms, either be really kewl with it and back off or get super pissed and want to fight all night, which makes you go to the bars!

Well i guess i'm very fortunate since my girlfriend cooks food for the track and has volunteered to learn the lap counting system to help out. The last gal hated it. I was told i was cheating on her with rc. Unfortunately it ended our relationship. And life goes on. It is quite the obsession. Some gals can take it, some can't.
