Hyper 8.5 Mach .21
Hi, i have a Hobao Hyper 8.5 with a mach 21 standard engine. Can anyone tell me what will have more power and/or better performance regarding a .21 mach hyper vs Novarossi 2001BF .21.
The hyper engine has been average, i'd like to stick with it (i have no idea why), but this is the second engine ive been through with minimal use (dodgey ebay bad luck with this engine anyhow). both have lost compression after about 5 litres both of 20% and its tuned perfectly.
them, and how i noticed the novarossi has short stroke 2.0 horsepower and revs to 30,000, where the hyper mach 21 has a claimed 2.7 horses and rev's to about 40,000. but they both have the same displacement. this seems to be one of novarossi's lower end engines, however im still interested in the comparison.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for a .21/.28 engines of similar cost ($100/250AUD) that offers the same value for money as the hyper 21.
I'm also looking at servos, any combination thats powerful for under $150 (both) throttle/steering
anyones help is much appreciated as i only recieve bias informationfrom local hoppy shops.

I havent tried either engine but I have heard great thing about them and got to see one run in a buggy a few weeks ago and it looked sweet!
Regarding servos, if you are saying 150 for each servo then get the jr 9100t for steering and jr9100 s for throttle. If you are saying 150 for both then i'd recommend the ace 1013 for throttle and 1015 for steering.

I used to have a Mach .21 with my hyper 8 and hated it, never got it hold a tune and went thru 3 pistons. But i have heard of some people that have had good ones, so you must be one of the lucky ones.
Novarossi do make good motors from what i have heard, but i have found that if you're after bang for buck have a look at the Go Engines range of motors.
