NOT GETTING ALONG WITH MY GT2
 

I need some setup help. Im running an associated gt2 truck,with losi red directional ribs up front and red kingpins in the rear. Im having understeer entering a turn about half way through it snaps loose. This is also about the time the pipe kicks in and it is one wild swishy swishy ride down the straight. What do I need to do to get more bite going in?

By the way the track is very hard pack dry clay with a sandy dusting over it no bite under power.

i have the same problem with my gt2 i thinks its just the way its design ,but if let of the gas and tap the brake that seems to help espially in loose dirt
i tryed diffrent springs and added camber it did the same thing i know losi xxx-nt oversteers

Yeah I tried that lastweekend. But the brakes got hot after about 3 min and just about quit. Im thinking about going from green to silver springs in the rear if I stiffen it up maybe it will give.

what do you have for shock oil? do you have the silver springs front and greens in rear?

yea i would try silver springs in the rear im gone to try that to i think its cause the green springs are the softest and that proberty causes understeer.and the green springs do seem to slide the rear end more.
if the brakes go to hot they might be binding i had that problem before
when my drag brake knob was in to far and the truck wouldnt roll freely

Yeah I think I had the breaks set to tight trying to snap the rear. Im running 35 wt and silver springs up front and 30 wt and green in the rear currently. Im also running the smooth pipe, the track i am running is really tight and the power band lags alot on the bottom. Got any good suggestions on a good bottom to mid pipe? My truck started out as a ready to run so im still running the stock .15. Thanks alot guys.

how tight do you have the diff and slipper? if they are to tight they will make the tail kick also, ive run gt2 for about a 1 1/2 years and we had a clay track that was basically concrete, i left the stock springs on it and went with 25 wt shock oil and loosened the diff up about 1hr and it was all good, i was also running step pins and proline edges...

+2 on the diff and slipper, try loosening a little.:nod:

I have the diff 1/8 out. It is pretty tight I tried a set of step pins it understeered through the whole turn, but it would run straight coming off. Any pipe ideas

Oh yeah the slipper is way loose about 1mm from the end and i went to the lighter clutch springs.

Run m3 holeshots on the front and rear. Problem solved.

also if you have not already done it try laying your shocks down a bit

Ive Ran KingPins with NO luck unless the track is hard and grooved.. any dust and they seem to make the back end meet the fron on most tight turns, as soon as i put M3 holeshots, or JConcept DD's on, the truck is fine.. I run the box stoxk set-up, except for some weight in the front.. Ride height is also very important on the truck,
