Switching carbs?

Is it ok to swap carbs between different manufacturers as long as the diameter and length dimensions are the same?

thanks for your help.
a new carb costs about 80+ for the OS .21 engine i'm working with, and I have some junked engines in my drawer with carbs that look functional.

I don't really care about maximizing performance. I just need something running for the kid. thanks for your help

It works, I run a Nova carb on my GRP and a Vega Carb on my OPS

not hi-jacking this thread or anything, but i heard the OPS carbs had a problem that they dont tighten up? and they still move? my mate had this problem, he put a VZB V-spec carb in it, and so far so good.
