I am quite new to nitro rc's. My cen nx-26 engine has just went out on me and I was wondering if I can use the clutch shoes, flywheel, clutch bell off of my nx-26 to put on a new engine?

You can use them on another engine.
When I replaced the motor in my Associated MGT I just moved everything onto the new engine, because the stock parts only had maybe 7 tanks through them.

Would the clutch tool be necessary to take off the clutch shoes? that seems to be the only major problem that I think I might have.

They aren't nessicary and you can get the shoes off with some fiddling and a flat blade screw driver. But the clutch tools really make the process easy and fast.
