I NEED HELP WITH SETUP!!!!!!!
I have an Associated RC8 with the big bores. My question is my car bounces more than I like it too.I have bronze front springs and silver rear. My oil is 30wt front 25 rear. What do ineed to change to calm down the bounceing???????

oil is too thin, and springs are too stiff...go thicker oil, less stiff springs, and tell us what Tires/inserts you are using
|
Post your piston sizes also

NEED SETUP HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
I have M3 crimefighter tires not sure what inserts are in though. And 1.3mm piston.

NEED HELP WITH SETUP!!!!!!!!!
I have the spring set for the associated big bore but it has spring rates on it.Don't really know what that means. Please help me.

Go up in piston size to 1.4 if you have them. I dont know the colors of the AE springs, but the lower the spring rate Number, the softer the spring, just go down 1 rate front and rear, go up in oil 5 weight in all 4 shocks, and see if you like that..you need to experiment with different things to see what you like, but start where I told you...there is no magic cure, you need to work at it..Good luck, have fun

How many holes do you have in the shock pistons.

I NEED SETUP HELP
They have 6 hole pistons.

anytime, let us know how you like it

From my experience your on the right track anytime your truck seems bouncy you have to much spring and not enough dampening in the shocks to slow down the expansion of the springs.
To create more dampening you can do two things get thicker shock oil and change the pistons in the shock to have less holes or smaller holes. Both of these slow down the rate at which the spring can simply put, spring which will get rid of the bouncing. in general if you make the springs stiffer you also have to stiffen the dampening in the shocks equally |
30/25wt with 6x1.3 pistons is too light of an oil. Going to the 40/30 like you did will settle the car down noticeably. If the rear still feels like it's bouncing around a little, go to 35wt in the back. You shouldn't need to go any thicker than that though.

It will handle better now. If it was bouncing before it will be more planted now, so you will get better traction and better stearing..You never want the car to bounce
