I went to the hobby shop and told them i needed a glow plug for a ofna .26 engine. The looked like he had no clue what he was doing. He gave me a O.S. A3 plug. I am asking if this is the right plug before i put it in my car. Does anybody know??

Hobby clown, that's good. Not all hobby towns are like that, but yes the majority of them are!

yeah i just about wanted to slap the kid. He looked like he would have rather been at the dentist, didn't know squat either. He did look at a chart though when picking out my plug. I will put it in and see what happens.

if your engine takes a long plug then the os plug is the wrong one

That plug is shorter than the plug you're supposed to have for your engine. It takes a standard medium heat plug and OS plugs are a bit shorter. It will work, but you'll loose some compression.

OFNA/PICCO #51007 PLUG is recommended.

General guideline is the bigger the engine, the cooler the plug. .26 is a medium sized engine, so a medium plug. More metal retains more heat, so you don't need the plug to retain as much heat to maintain a good idle.

A3 will work, but will probably fail quicker than a A5. Like already mentioned, OS plugs are a shorter plug...they are all I run however and they work just fine.

Did you ask him if he knew that it was the correct plug? Another good rule of thumb is when in doubt, ask the guy...if he doesn't know WTF he's talking about he can either A) find someone who does, or B) look it up on the manufacturer's website for you.

I don't expect everyone to know everything and have every last answer...especially if it's some 16 year old kid working at the LHS.
