Default Which Ones Can I Assemble?

Hi folks.....not a new guy, but MANY years removed from the hobby and dying to get back in again.

WOW have things changed!

I see soooo many ready to race kits....doesn't anyone prefer and enjoy building their rigs from complete scratch?

As far as Electric offroad goews, I'm interested in the B44.

But I also have an extreme interest in some nitro action!

Can anyhone recommend a nitro buggy that I can open the box and build it myself? I don't wanna open the box and just have a rig I can race....building it is 90% of the fun for me.

THANKS!

Most of the ready to runs are more for bashing. For racing look at the Losi 8ight 2.0, the Associated RC8/RC8T, Mugen MBX6.

All the big name buggies come as a kit. Very few actually come as rollers. Pick a brand, odds are it comes in kit form.

almost all of the nitro buggies come 80-90% pre-assembled for you already unfortunately. i as well enjoy building one from the ground up. but i think one of the few that need assembly is the FT RC8. i got a losi 8 and what i did when i got it out of the box was took it completely apart. every single screw nut and bolt and then put it all back together so i got a feel for the how the car was assembled and knew how to fix things when they broke

Kyosho MP9, Jammin X2, Mugen MBX 6, Hot Bodies D8 = kits

AE RC8, Ofna Hyper 8.5 and 9, Losi 8 and 8 2.0 = race rollers

Jammin, Ofna, Losi, and AE all also offer RTRs.

There's others I know I have not mentioned, and no offense to any I did miss...but this oughtta be a good start for you.

The following is an excerpt from XRC mag, taken off of AE's website...

Team Associated Factory Team RC8: Pre-Built for World Domination

As if there weren't enough good choices to confuse you with, the Team Associated RC8 now adds another world-class option to the list of buggies you should race. It's packed with details that make it stand out in the crowd, it handles with the best of them, it has the huge team behind it making improvements to the car and setup even as I type, and AE is distributed just about everywhere.

That might just be because the diffs and shocks come prebuilt. Because i personally built a RC8T and i doubt the truggy would come as a kit and the buggy wouldn't.
