Default OFNA Starter box the blue one

Hi everyone

I would like to know what batties are ppl using on this starter box this is the OFNA blue one with the twin 775 motor in it. I am using a big 12V square batties. I want to make it lite now it is heavy as hell due to the battery..

If I go lipo which is good to use and what else would I need to use a lipo on the starter box??

THanks

I use a losi lipo. Lipos are much lighter and more powerfull and the charge last a lot longer. You need a charger that can charge lipo batteries(this is a must). Also be sure that the charger you buy can balance the type of lipo you buy. They all have there own connecters.

get a lipo voltage tester or any battery tester just dont let the voltage drop to 6v and try to balance your battery once in a while

Starter box's use 4 cell's.....6v would be One dead battery starter box battery.

for cheap 4 cell's look on Ebay....they can be had for as little as 25$ Including shipping.

I too am using 12volt gel cells in my truggy boxes and to be honest im getting sick of them weighing a billion pounds each. So integra stated 4s is the way to go for a starterbox battery, how many "c"? like 35? [TBH i dont know what any of that mumbo jumbo means] And whats a good MAH? Ive got seperate boxes for buggy and truggy, and i'd like to be able to charge them a night before a race and at the MINIMUM use a box for an entire day of racing, take it home and not have to worry about the voltage for 1-2 days after that...so whats a safe MAH?

I know i've got Losi Lipo's in my cars and they're fantastic I can run them all weekend on a charge, plug them in during the middle of the next week and they'll still be damn near fully charged still.

thanks in advance.

Default Losi Lipo

I use this losi 4s 2200 lipo with a deans connector in my starter box and I love it. It is extremely light and very powerful. I use this hyperion charger to balance charge it, it is full proof. I would like to find a cut off for low voltage because recently I had the losi box short out and dump the battery to 11.3 volts. It took a charge and held 95% charge over 12 days so I think it will be ok, but I'm going to start carrying a backup just in case. Lipo is definitely the way to go.

I use the Losi 4S starter box lipo and works great . I have a cheap digital meter I carry with to check the voltage once and a while throughout the day to make sure it is ok .

Once you go lipo there's no going back.....so just try it and you'll be a believer as well.
