....racing 8th scale this spring/summer. I've been racing 4wd 1/10th electric buggy for about 10months, have been in the hobby for many years. I owned 1 nitro and screwed up the mix and blew it up- that was the end of that. Now I'm looking for an 8th scale either kit or RTR. I own a DX3S radio, I'm unsure if I want to buy an RTR to start me off, like the RC8RS and throw my radio in, and maybe throw a better engine in. My question is, is it really worth it to get the RC8FT over the RS? I understand the shock towers are weak- thats okay I'll pick up some 7075's, but how is the drivetrain in comparison? I can snag a .21 OS engine tuned for 150, I was thinking of getting that and then a kit, a kit as in a mugen mbx6, an rc8ft, etc etc...I'm just TORN.

it is worth getting the rc8 factory kit cause with the rtr u will evently bend the thinner parts on the rtr like the shock towers etc you will just spend more money, the drivetrain i think the rtr has a dogbone in the center ,and the factory team has cvd allround which u will end up getting anyways.i would remmend a novarossi .21 bf for about $170 at some places and its not to inspendsive for the engine parts, and its a 3 ports so its good for newbies like me and u ,i did 2wd nitro truck for a long time, and the buggy jumps and u can just go faster with it. the os vg.21 is the one for $150 but i heard they dont last long.the mugen is a pretty good buggy now if u dont have a hobby store local then theres pretly of parts for them online at stores.
