Default Starter Box Lipo Conversion

I just purchased a new ofna truggy box and i want to run it with lipos (i want break in to be as painless as possible!). can anybody reccomend a good setup (batteries, connectors, etc...). Im assuming deans are the best connectors, but it seems like their are a dozen balance tabs for the lipos, i have an eflight triton charger that runs align balancing tabs. Thanks for the help.

u need battery with JST-XH balancing tap.

I use Zippy-H 4s 5000mah pack in my ofna box - u can get it from hobbycity.com. However any 2000mah + battery from hobbycity will do. it all depends on your budget. Most their packs come with deans so stick with them.

any 2000+mah 4S pack will do

in one of my starter boxes (team magic X5 I use for buggy) i have 8000mah pack - no need to charge it whole season

i have a 2200mah 4s in my ofna truggy box, it lasts about 3 race weekends, prolly more, but I recharge it anyway. Depends on how much you have to start your car though. Also just make sure it has 15c rating minimum

Put some Dean's on this battery and you'll be good to go.

these come with dean clone connectors, not real deans, but connect to real deans and resistance measures the same, I have checked some I got off ebay once. good battery though, plenty of juice

Reedy has a 4s 2200 that is 20C that is available now. I can turn over new motors easy with it. Reedy should be available at most shops, online or LHS, or at least easy to order if not in stock.

Went to my lhs last week and bought a pair of Yeah Racing 7.4v 5000mah 25c packs. Used a elictrifly series adapter with deans already on it. Paid 135 bucks for both batteries. The hobby shop owner soldered some deans on them and my losi box. I balance them with a astroflight blinky. It turns my engines over faster than they idle. Still using stock motors in my box. What a difference!

I got a truggy starterbox with a zippy/rhino lipo and some deans (hobbycity got them in stock). Just don't forget to rewire the whole thing. My switch melted... lipo is 4900 mah with 20C... it turns over any new engine unheated, even if it's cold outside ;-)

try getting a lipo with at least 20C. I got a lipo off ebay with 15C, didn't do the job right.

id like to put a lipo in my starter box. What is the best way to check voltage? I know I can use a volt meter, but the last thing I need is another item to haul to the track. Is there some kind of mini volt meter or maybe a small digital voltage display I can add to the side of my starter box. I have the OFNA box that has the battery checker on it, could I just use that?
