FYI: These droop screws have been around for ages. McMaster-Carr sells them. Just bought 24. They are expensive. $5.24 ea. They come in perfect size. 4x12mm. No tig welding needed. Also, I would suggest buying TRAXXAS PART# TRA3932 3X6MM FLAT HEAD MACHINE HEX DRIVE SCREWS.
EASY INSTRUCTIONS:
1. REMOVE OLD DROOP SCREWS FROM LOWER ARMS
2. INSTALL McMASTER 4X12 DROOP SCREWS INTO LOWER ARMS UNTIL THEY EXTRUDE PAST THE LOWER ARMS.
3. TURN OVER YOUR CHASSIS SO THE ARMS WILL LIFT UP. (ITS EASIER TO REMOVE YOUR SHOCKS FIRST)
4. PUT "WHITE OUT" ON THE BALL BEARINGS OF THE NEW DROOP SCREWS.
5. QUICKLY FLIP YOUR CHASSIS OVER SO THE ARMS WILL FALL BACK ON THE CHASSIS.
6. THE WHITE OUT WILL MARK THE CHASSIS WHERE THE DROOP SCREWS TOUCH.
7. TURN THE TRAXXAS FLAT HEAD SCREWS OVER AND ALIGN THEM ON THE CHASSIS WHERE THE WHITE OUT MARKS ARE.
8. TRACE THE TRAXXAS FLAT HEAD SCREWS AROUND THE WHITE OUT MARK
9. DO NOT DRILL THE WHITE OUT MARK!
10. FLIP THE FLAT HEAD OVER AND ALIGN THE THREADED SHAFT IN THE CENTER OF THE TRACED FLAT HEAD CIRCLE. PUT WHITE OUT ON THE BOTTOM OF THE THREADED SHAFT.
11. USE A CENTER PUNCH TO MARK YOUR DRILL SPOT
12. USE DUBRO OR OTHER TAP AND DRILL THE HOLE AND TAP IT WITH 4MM.
13. USE RED THREAD LOCK ON THE TRAXXAS FLAT HEAD SCREW. THEN SCREW IT INTO THE CHASIS AND DREMEL ANY THREAD STICKING OUT ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CHASSIS.
11. DONE! NO MORE BUYING NEW CHASSIS! AND YOUR DROOP ISSUES ARE OVER!
