Some Hyper 7 TQ Sport help with break-in please.

I purchased 2 kits for my boys online and the motor is a Hyper .21 3 port and with it they shipped a 1/10 car glow plug Nitro .12 or OFNA/Picco .12 glow plug and it has 2 copper gaskets. Now is this the propper plug for this, do i use both gaskets? There is no motor break-in inscructions with the kit. This is confusing to me as I'm relatively new to nitro. Could you also recommend a good plug to run in this.

Thanks,
Sidewaze

The 1/10 glow plugs are usually a hot plug. That is a good choice if your going to run 20% nitro fuel. If you go up to 30% fuel you'll probably want to change to a cold plug.

Use only one copper washer on the plug for that Hyper engine, I believe. There are a few engines that need two washers like the O.S. engines, or engines that require a short plug. If you want to be sure, take the head off the engine and thread in the plug with one washer. The bottom of the plug should seat nearly flush with the top of the combustion chamber.

There are many differant brands of plugs on the market. Most are good. Some are not so good. Most good plugs run about $7 or more each. Don't buy the budget $3.50 plugs. For the standard long plugs (which is what you need) I usually buy the McCoy brand. They are available from Dynamite, Racers Edge, and a few other distributers. They are usually easy to find, and affordable.
MC-59 (hot)
MC-9 (cold)
MC-8 (med)

Engine Break-in,

Just go with the basic break-in.

1st tank off the ground. Make sure the carb needles are set on the rich side and you can keep the engine running when you put it on the ground.

Tanks 2-6 running on the road 1/4-1/2 throttle. You can lean the needles out a little with each tank.

Start tuning for preformance. Just try to keep it a little rich for the next 10 tanks or so, then go for it.

Use 20% Nitro for break in, use Mcoy Plugs The Hyper .21 likes either the MC8 (medium, or the MC59 Hot. 1 shim..
