losi 8 front dif problem

my dad has a losi 8 buggy and i was just getting it ready to go for later and notice that thet two front tires dont have as much power going to them as the rears, like none at all they are barely spinning. i know it is something to do with the dif, what could it be?

sounds like you are missing the front driveshaft pin/barrel. Its common on the Losi. Check and make sure the center drive shaft is tied up to the input shaft on the diff. I have a feeling thats it. If thats all good, might have sheared pinion/ring gear inside the diff case. iF thats all good, you may have sheared spider gears, but that is HIGHLY unlikely.

Yup. Willing to bet it's the front center driveshaft. Easy fix. Make sure to take the grub screw out and put some fresh loctite on it.

When you use the loctite can you ever take the screw out again or is it there forever?

There are different grades of loctite. Blue loctite is what you want to use. You can still remove the part using regular hand-tools.

RED loctite is a bit of a no-no. The only way to remove the part is to heat it up to break the bond.

Def. dont use green. You might as well through it away if u do. That stuff is bearing race glue basically, gnarliest stuff ive ever seen. ON that particular piece, if u do use loctite, even blue, use MIN NUTE amount, and when u take it apart, make damn sure you got good tools, but, IMO, if you where that piece out, you need new dog bones ne way, so might as well just get the set.:nod:
