Default Nitro Rustler 2.5 engine upgrade help...

Hey guys, I have a nitro rustler 2.5 and im looking to do an engine upgrade...I have talked to a bunch of people and alot of them are saying go with the 3.3 because it is a direct fit and it gives alot more power...this sounds good but the issue with that is I want to run at the track this season and rules state you cant go over the stock size of the engine being .15 - Are their any .15 or .12 alternative engines that would give me comparable performance to the 3.3 - another issue im trying to avoid is hacking up the engine to make it fit - I like the idea of a direct fit or a near-direct fit - Any advice would be awesome Nitro Rustler 2.5 engine upgrade help...-img_0385e.jpg

an OS .15 will do. I can't remember any of the acronyms that go with them, but a mid end priced one will do you fine.

Default trx 3.3

I spoke to lhs manager and he told me they are lenient on the rules and they let 3.3's run in the class so with that said would you recommend running a 3.3?

Default 3.3 or brushless...

I am getting ready to race this season and I really like the 2wd stadium truck class but as I recently drove my nephews vxl rustler im wondering if I should sell my rustler instead of upgrading the motor in order to get an electric...The reason Im saying this is, mainly costs - fuel, glow plugs, but also tuning etc. - Im not partial to traxxas as I hear they arnt the greatest to be competitive - any Ideas? What do you guys recommend?
