I bought this buggy used, my first buggy ever. It isnt as much FUN as my bashers but has a ton of power. But it seems as if it doesn't go anywhere. I noticed today (i never drive it) that the front tires spin like a bat out of hell. It squats in the rear and just spins. The rears stay pretty calm as if 15-20% of power is going to them. Is there anyway to stop this or at least get more power to the rear? Is this a gearing issue?

i beleive its thicker diff oil in the center to get more power to the rear

Yeah, you need to pull the center diff and put some diff oil in it. If you are just bashing I would go with some 20k to 30k oil in it to give it better acceleration. If you might race I wouldn't go any higher than 10k and would probably start with 7k.

If you don't have a hobby shop close by, I would recommend amainhobbies.com (easy to navigate website and quick shipping). As far as brand goes, it doesn't really matter as long as you pick a brand and stick with it. Personally I use Mugen (easy to get and reasonably priced).

I would also check the rear bearings and rear diff. If you have dirty or seized bearings or rear diff issues then the centre diff will transfer more power to the front wheels.

I recommend that when you tear open the rear diff that you put in a hardend ring gear too. I think its roughly 25 to 30 bucks. You'll get 10 to 15 tanks out of the stock ring gear and then its stripola! In my opinion its the weak point of the car.

I took the rear apart and the gears catch, but when there is too much friction they slip away from each other. I ordered a new one. Thanks for all the input guys.

Any input for grease for the diffs? I have never dont it and don't know they proper weights.

I would go to Amainhobbies.com and look up Racer's Edge silicone diff fluid. You get a big tube of it for a lot cheaper than most other companies.

If you are STRICTLY going to bash the buggy I would use 7000 front, 15-20k center and 3k rear.

The center fluid is what's going to have the most impact on keeping the front tires from ballooning when your hard on the gas. The higher the number the thicker the fluid and vice versa.

I had one of those and when you order your diff fluid, you better order a stack of rear ring gears. Mine wouldn't hold up. You can try shims and tighten it until it has a "notchy" feel to it. Maybe that will help extend the life of them. I would also never land the car with the motor pegged. This is a rear end getter for sure on that thing. The motor in that car is a bit much for the gears they put in it.
