Jammin JPX .21

Another thing I have found is the Picco plugs have a great lifespan, even in my strung out modded engines....one of my drivers was trying the cheaper Racers Edge plugs and ended up losing a motor due to a dropped coil, sme thing happened with a OD plug, now I refuse to modify anyone a Picco unless they promise to run only Picco plugs... Also I found the OD plugs lost much of the crispness we get from the Picco plugs....however the OS plugs seem to make great power as the Team jammin guys engines were ripping very good with them....

Any one know if a .21 piston and sleeve will fit in the .28 case? I was running a JPX .28 and a JP-2 pipe this weekend and it was a little more than i can handle. It also was using alot of fuel.

thanks for the quick reply. was running the JP-2 pipe because it seemed to lessen the low end power and make it more drivable off of a corner. I was also using loose clutch springs for the same reason. After a warm up at the race i was at, i would fill the tank and get approximately 6 minutes and the tank was very low after than. It seems i should be getting more. I see the 2027 pipe is supposed to get good mileage, how much do you think it will improve my runtime? any idea on what it will do to the powercurve? On a previous engine i ran a restictor and it didnt seem to limit power much but it really seemed to limit the rpm it could achieve. Is this something that you feel with help the fuel mileage, and also tame the motor? or just give me better mileage?

Someone knows how many shims is ideal to use with a 30% Byron? and how many shims came out off the box? Can I use the motor how it cames out off the box with 30% fuel?
Thanks

they also recommend OS plugs.....so i can stand to make an argument even with THE man who's name is on the motor......he didn't have an answer for a leaky deaky .21 that had OS plugs stretched into place...he said the button seal must be leaking.
either way...the picco carbs are the same as the Jammin...they all Suck...i was told this weekend by a veteran racer that OS VG's drop right into place when you remove the alum sleeve....i might go down that road in the near future for ease of my conciseness that my carb isnt gonna lock up Or have to get DQ'd due to not being able to have even the loosest of carb return spring/band.(dont ask)

Personally, I always run my engines in with the fuel I'm gonna race with. You're gonna hafta re-tune once you switch anyway, so why go through that hassle. Also, the extra expense...not much point in that IMO.

some Race blend fuel's have Significantly less oil....and will not provide enough lube for the initial break in....i buy a gallon and it lasts at least 4-5 motor's....pointless i think not.

Since this has now turned into a discussion..My manual says use only genuine Picco glow plugs....I have never spoken with Jay, but I have had a few conversations with Maximo through PM's when I was considering buying one of his jammin mods. ( I bought stock instead) In my book, I would think Maximo to be the expert on these engines..He told me the composites used in the jammin carbs are better than the composites in the picco carbs, which Is where I got my info from when people ask me why buy the jammin over the Picco but hey, what the hell do I know........
