Questions?? 1/8 buggy wide offset hubs?

I was wondering what are the pros and cons to running offset hubs on your 1/8 buggy? I would think it would slow down the steering response?? Wouldn't it work well to run offset in the back and reg. in the front? I would love to hear from people that run them or have run them in the past.

Info is straight from the Xray tuning guide

It is important that front or rear trackwidth is adjusted symmetrically, meaning that the left and right wheels (at one end of the car) must be the same distance from the centerline of the chassis.

FRONT TRACK-WIDTH
Wider
• Decreases front grip
• Increases understeer
• Slower steering response
• Use to avoid traction rolling
Narrower
• Increases front grip
• Decreases understeer
• Faster steering response

REAR TRACK-WIDTH
Wider
• Increases rear grip at corner entry
• Increases high-speed on-throttle steering
• Use to avoid traction rolling
Narrower
• Increases grip at corner exit
• Increases high-speed understeer

I have added the 2mm wider hubs and Proline V3's to my MBX6. I don't know if it is racing legal, but it made a difference in the rear without giving up any steering.

I just added the hubs to the rear.

moeman, no harm in trying.

Scott Hughes to me they would rub up front so I never tried to put them up front, but I could pull the 2mm hubs off the rear and see if they will work.

I can't run right now (snow) but I could check the fit.

Offset and trackwidth adjustments are totally different. Widening the front of a car by loosening the pivot balls will have a different effect on the car than installing wide offset hubs. Widening the front will reduce steering and likely make the car more stable. Installing wide offset hubs wil increase the scrub angle and actually increase front end grip.

So it looks like no rub? I think mine were rubbing on the backside of the arms. I don't have my buggy here to see.
