Default Receiver batteries

Just wondering how much runtime to expect out of a 1600 NIMH hump pack in a 8th scale buggy.

I would like to know that too since I just bought a Mugen .........and the newer style radio tray only takes a inline strip style pack . So far 1600 is as much as I can find and I am not going LIPO .

I read the article about how on more than 1 occassion the regulators go bad and the cars go runaway . I love LIPO stuff too . Just not for that .

That will depend on your components, ie servos, amb, etc, but it should last an hour main.

Remember that the battery capacity will change over time

If you have a good charger/discharger you will be able to tell how many mah the cells take. I like to use Elite 1500 mah cells because they actually will hold 1800 mah most of the time which easily will get you through an hour main. And they are cheap I run lipo in 10th scale but I am like you with reciever batts, but pretty much any good name brand cell will do alittle more than it says but the elite's are just awsome. They are well known for that reason most crawlers at comps use them. You can get them from cheapbatterypacks.com
TT MT4G3 all tricked

JR servos Hitec servos. Gens ace lipos KO radio.

track layout, lenth and conditions would all effect as well. on average I would estimate a 1600mah nickel battery lasting around an hour. maybe a little more or less depending on the above
