Frim what I have seen/heard the os based motors(JX21 ninja) are easier to tune and get better runtime than the grp based motors. As for power i can't comment on that. From what I have seen at the track the grp motors are pretty finnickey to tune. My os motors on the other hand are probably the easiest tuning motors I have had. Plus they get 10+ minutes in runtime.

both engines are good, i havent been running the ninja jx very long, but i got better fuel economy with the grp, they both have good power, the ninja is punchier on the bottom, but the grp isnt far behind with the right pipe, i found the novarossi 9853 and the ttr2035 to be better then the grp pipe, it really woke the engine up

For runtimes and ease of tuning, hands down its the JX21. Raced last Saturday and after each 5min qualifying came in at half tank of full left. Was coming in for pit in the 25min Amain at the 9min interval with no problems.

for a buggy I feel the GRP is the better engine. It gets better runtime period over the jx. It may not be what some want in a truggy but it's perfect for buggy and lays the power to the ground!
Thats not to say the jx is a bad engine because it's one of the better ones out now

Pricing is a little more now on the GRP. If tuned out to get runtime the jx is a handful for most average guys in a buggy.
However the GRP when tuned out runs about 190 goes easily 9-10 minutes and is a smooth fast engine with a decieving bottom end

I run both of these engines. The grp on my 8 2.0 gets around 9:30 on average. The jx on my 8t gets about the same. The grp is perfect for buggy plenty enough power and holds a tune well. The jx also holds a tune very well and can throw a truggy around with no problem.
