Help Mugen MBX6 links to set-up sheet?
 

I am assembling my MBX6 and wanted to see what some of would recommend for set-up for a mid-pack sportsman driver? The manual is kind of vague and I dont want to miss something.

Its my understanding not to use the S3 o-rings on the planarity gears?

Also any tips and tricks I should be doing or looking out for. I already stopped by M2C and picked up the upper hinge pin kit

I have a ? are you guys adding the thin shim on the diffs during the buildup? the backlash/ gear mesh seems pretty tight now?

I don't think I added it to mine. It meshed pretty tight without it.

I didn't use the shim on the rear diff but I did on the front. The rear felt too tight initially with the shim in so out it came.

what set-up are you guys runnning?

If the diff moves side to side, it needs shimming. I check this with the pinion out and the diff bulkhead assembled. Once thats squared away, if the diff gear mesh is too loose or too tight, move the shim(s) from the left or right side as needed. If no shims are needed for side to side play, but mesh is too tight, install a thin shim opposite the ring to move it away from the pinion. Once this is done, apply a good grease to the ring gear and any gear play will most likely disappear.

yep best to check the mesh with the f/r ass. off the chassy turned upside down. after the first day/breakin with new gears remove the f/r ass. and recheck the mesh use shims as needed.
no dont use the s3 orings
i use 2 diff gaskets for leak and smoother mesh
run 7 5 2 in your diffs to start with

Can someone tell me exactly where the s12 o-ring goes on the spring side of the servo saver? Does it go in between the aluminum knurled thumb nut and the spring

I think i figured it out. Does it go in between the chassis and the knurled thumb nut on the servo saver?

There is a groove machined on the inside of the aluminum knurled thumb nut. The o-ring sits inside that groove.

Look on page 8 of your manual. It goes inside the knurled nut that screws on the post to tighten the spring. It keeps the nut from loosening
