well im still having the same problem that i had with the 8T1.
I just finished my 4 day state titles on a super blown out track. It track had holes in it that buggy's were getting stuck in. I used to blow rear outer wheel bearings like crazy in my 8T1 and today in the semi final while running quite well i had one go in my 8T2.0 putting me out of contention so it looks like im going to have to go and get my rear hubs boared out to fit a 16x8x5 bearing like i did with the 8T1. when will Losi realize that the whole world doesn't race on flat tracks and that a 14x8x4 bearing cant withstand the up to the presure of a super blown out track with the rotating mass of a truggy wheel on the end, and the added weight and extended leverage of a truggy. Im so pissed off i didnt get the rear hubs boared out before this event because i new it was a problem with the 8T1. i just figured that there was a reason that they went to standard offset and this might of been it obviously it wasn't :( |
The cvd to bearing fit is also pretty loose, which may contribute to premature bearing failure. Bearings, even cheap ones, are made to very close tolerances, so I think Losi could tighten up their tolerances a bit as well.
Think of it like this, how long would your engine last if the crank was .002 smaller than the main bearing? However, these trucks are assembled somewhere else, so hand fitting/sanding/deburring is all kept to a minimum. Which explains the rather loose fit on everything. |
havnt owned a truggy befor....my 8 2.0 is awsome i would like to get the new truggy is it better than the old one which im sure it is certainly looks the part ....

I ran the Truggy last night and WOW, this is the best handling vehicle I have ever ran, my only issue was to much traction, I needed AKA City blocks but one got one pair (the other pair was b/o'd) my 1.0 NEVER had to much traction, very impressed

WE had a HUGE event yesterday. There were a handfull of the new trucks out. HOLY CRAP!!!!! Those things looked awesome, so planted, smooth, very little spinning out witht he extra length, they flew so flat and even, just awesome. And that body was lookin better and better, Nice work Losi!

Thinking og going 3/3 in the rear instead of the 3/3.5. Any pros or cons to doing this?

i noticed that on my 2.0 the rear diff is binding on rotation. should i take out one of the shims. its not on the full rotation only seems to be in one spot.

i took one shim out from each side and the binding is gone
