Thats exactly how I felt at first but after thinking about it if they do switch it will be for good reason. luckily I didn't get a chance to glue up several of the new sets I bought so those can be changed to 0 offset pretty easily. I am in the exact same situation as you though all I needed were some AKAs.

Look for the "looneytune tire sale" coming up if this is true. I might have enough money to buy the new 8T 2.0 when I'm done.:D Anybody have any good excuses to buy more stuff cuz I'm out of them and have nowhere left to hide things from the Mrs.

Its always easier to beg forgiveness than to ask permission!

Jammin, in your case i would sell the Half offset rims, and buy 0 offset rims. Then get an hub to make up the difference, which i think losi makes. Then if they do make the change to 0 offset rims you are set. if not, then you still have the hub that you can use until those tires are worn out.

Bigedmond 12-02-2008 04:30 PM

you could use these hubs

I actually have the losi extended hubs already but I would rather just run the 1/2 offsets that I have on the old truck and switch the tires that I have that arent glued to 0 offsets.

LosiMadMan 12-02-2008 05:13 PM

See the thing is, Losi needs to change enough stuff to get you to buy a whole new kit. They don't want to sell upgrade packages, because it doesn't make them enough money that way.

Gilley11 12-02-2008 05:33 PM

Possible reason for zero offset rims might be less stress on the bearings in the carriers. Polar moment moved to relieve stress and cause less slop.

That is another possible reason for it but anyone who runs a losi truggy will tell you that they get sloppy and it doesn't hurt annything at all. I have heard stories where someone shimmed a losi to remove slop and it actually made the truck handle worse.

ne one seen more info on this yet?? I would def. like to know what we are waiting for!! I missed the stuff on the site, but i would like to confirm the chasis lengths and updates.

What is the length of the other truggies?? AE and Jammin, i have a buddy that runs jammin, his truck hooks so well, seems very planted and flys so well. I really like his truck, i already have some Losi stuff though, so if there is a major update, im willing to wait and see what it is before i do ne thing radical. ???!!??!!??

Well the chassis was listed as 14mm longer which I believe would be longer than any other truggy. And the turnbuckles were something like 15 mm longer so i would assume the arms would be close to that. With the use of 0 offset wheels that essentially brings the truck back to it's normal width. I can't wait to see one run. The 1.0 is already a formidable truck and with the updates the new truck should be crazy.

motoclay 12-02-2008 06:45 PM

thats what im hopin. I really think if you took all the truggies and tested them back to back, they would all have something a little better than the other and something that made it not as great as the other to the point that the would be EXACTLY the same. Kinda like MX bikes, they are just different colors at the end of the day. But, my truck is the RTR and i used that to break into the hobby, now that i have had time to race and research, i was just gonna start updated my chasis and shock towers and gettin the truck to the RACE version, but if they gonna update within 60-90 days, might as well wait. I aint racin it right now ne way!! See what comes of it.

Hellsavage 12-03-2008 01:16 AM

I here no talking about the shocks. If I remember wel they posted some shock upgrades. Maybe longer to get just a little more droop to set or to compensate the longer arms.

Yes they released longer rear shocks when they posted all the parts. I was thinking about it and thought they may run the longer ones in the rear and standard rears in the front. something like kyosho did. Just a guess though, I actually have no clue what they are doing with them.

Unfortunately there hasn't been any news about it since they posted and removed the parts.

jamminx2kid 12-24-2008 09:20 PM

i got a jammin x2 it looks sweet. have not run it yet. one thing i can say for sure i cant afford to buy a new truggy every year i hope this one will last for a few years. i can say this about the jammin's you don't need a lot of stuff for the cars. mabye 2-3 hop-ups and thats it. on the losi's they come up with something new every year to keep you buying. for example the 8ight-t was good then it was the 8ight-t with tft now it is the 8ight-t 2.0 you see and now it is those $100 a piece fount and center diffs so that is like $200 extra on top of the car to get what the pros run. with the jammin there was only the x1crt then the same truck with big bores and now the x2 truggy. the jammin design has been around for like 3-4 years only small mods. i love losi a lot too but i cant afford buying a new thing every couple of months. i think they could have made a conversion kit that would have been cool maybe with enough people would want this they might do it. with the jammin cars i get like 2-3 year run time guaranteed. just my 0.2 cents
