Just out of curiousity, were you running the stock tank mounts, or the one w/ the KHZ motor mount? There was some speculation that the aluminum rear tank mount on the KHZ motor mount doesn't flex like the stock plastic one does, and was causing tank breakage. However, I haven't broken one since, and I still use it.

Yep, stock tank mounts, mine split almost all the way around the seem.

Got a good question for you guys, there's a certain amount of on power push in my 2.0. Im using Holeshots and only real changes Ive done to the truck was camber the rear wheels in to 3 degrees and changed the role center in the front (used lower hole) I like the acceleration that im getting right now so if there are any other idea's besides running a lighter fluid in the center LMK and thank you!

i'am thinking you mean -3 in the rear,i run mine at -1.5 or -2 and left the front end alone, accept i changed the front shock oil to 32.5 instead of 35,-1 camber in the front,i run holeshots or the AKA citibeam combo, and mine is on a rail on power out of the corners, also my ride height is 39mm in front & 42mm in the rear, hope this helps.:tire::nod:

its funny you say that.
i had this exact problem on the old car with the kingheadz extended mount. ever since then i have been running a nyloc on top of the kingheadz mount with a cutdown losi plastic mount on top of that. ive never had a problem since

it seems that when the chassis flexes it squashes the tank and pops the seem. i had it happen twice running on some really rough tracks with big jumps

on another note has anyone seen the new 8T 2.0 RTR body. it looks pretty good. i might not bother painting bodys anymore

Hi guys, sorry but just don't have the time to sit and read all 130 odd pages.:)

I am looking at getting a new truggy right now and am seriously considering one of these, in fact, after seeing it on the tracks here in ol' Blighty, it's top of my list at the moment.

Any issues I should be aware of, anything I need to mod and any spares that I would probably need to keep in my pit box?

Thanks

Make sure your servo saver is tight enough and check to see if your wheels are rubbing at full lock. They may not rub while bench testing but while turning, you get wheel flex when the tread digs in and they may be hitting.

I tried the lower hole on the front tower and had to shave plastic off the rod end to get it to move freely, it hits on the bulk head, not happy with that but it sure did turn and burn.

Can you convert the screws over to metric? I really hate that Losi doesn't use metric. It is becoming a PITA to have to carry two sets of drivers around.

Nope! Standard hardware is alot nicer anyway. It does suck to need 2 sets of tools, but in the end I like the standard hardware alot better. I think RC screws makes a metric kit, but you would have to re-tap everything for metric hardware.

i dont see what everyones problem is with imperial hardware.
it takes half as long to build an imperial car because the threads are alot courser.

I finally got to race mine this weekend at the Canadian Indoor Offroad Shootout and this thing is awesome. I'm not very good by any means since I'm still pretty new but it is very easy to drive. My only driving experience with it was driving around my yard to break in a new motor, but the first laps on the track felt like I have been driving it all season. I'm an idiot and changed the screws in the front camber links, but somehow overlooked the rear ones and lost the screw during practice. Make sure you change the screws to the longer ones on both ends. I had some qualifying issues that were no fault of the car and I ended up at the bottom of the C main. I was in 2nd after 2 laps and as soon as they announced my name and I was in 2nd, I started shaking like a wet dog and fell to the back. I can't believe my nerves got the better of me. Anyway, I worked back up to 3rd, only to lose it on the last lap. So I ended up 4th, 2nd after the 2 bumps so I got the 2nd place trophy. Not bad for the first time out with the truck. It's awesome. It is nothing like the 1.0, I drove that all last season. A lot of people were commenting on how good the Losi's looked. Anyone thinking about buying one that had the 1.0 should, like right now. It's that good. My "Nemo" body was the concourse winner over Chad Bradley's Jammin', so I can say I beat him at something.

It is mainly because I hate fractions... this is just one of those little things the mfg ought to standardize.
