BATTERY PACK SUGGESTIONS????
I have a xray xt8 truggy and I'm needing some suggestions for a reciever battery pack. Any ideas on a good "affordable" pack?

Try www.promatchracing.com my son ran a 45 minute Truggy A main at the Rc Xgames with there 5 cell reciever pack. Then ran 20 minutes in the last man standing race forgetting he didn't change batteries.

You can easily make your own from rechargeable AAs like this one -
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/7001 or this one - http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/18754 All you need is a servo extension, soldering iron and shrink. If you are looking budget - http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/20046 |
Check out this link, they have a lot of batteries to look at. On the first page for about $34 you have a 2700mah ballistic pack. IT's big and may not work in your car but will go more than long enough.
PErsonally I use the dynamite or orion 1500/1600mah. Both a re small and fit in most every box and I have ran hour mains with them. Good price as well. http://www.carolinasrc.com/Webstore/...n&showNumber=8 It may be a good idea to have two good packs. I like to make sure they are always in top shape. |
in my jammin x2 i use lipo ...only charge it every other week ..i use common sense lipo battery they are not that much here the link

I ran the orion marathon hump packs in other cars & their flat pack in my 808. I was not happy with their life span, cycle wise. I picked up a no label house brand pack at my local hobbytown a little while ago & am so far happy with it at maybe 20 cycles so far. I dont remember the batt brand but they were blue with yellow accents. Since you have I think the same box as my 808 only much more room between the batt lid & eng I hope you under stand that theres no way in hell I'm gonna fight to get the batts out & find out who makes the cells, sorry. I can tell you that the pack just had a generic Hobbytown label stapled to the top of the bag & right at $30. At that price you might just want to find the orions on sale somewhere(bought mine for $18 on sale)& buy 2 or 3 packs. Your affordable stipulation kinda puts a limit on things like lipo & such.

2S lipo with regulator. Consistent power from beginning to end, doesn't self-discharge, and lighter:nod:
