Default Hw much slop CVDs get b4 replacing 'em?

Basically what is the general consensus that everyone has came upon?

At the death of engine's compression (8~10gals)?

1mm worth of play (back and forth)? Perhaps 2mm?

Thanks!!!!!!

I would replace my cvds, unis, or drive cups somewhere between 1 and 2mm. I also flip the drive cups when one side starts to wear too much.

An rc motor can last anywhere from 3 to 10 gallons depending on the qaulity and how it is treated.

The play would remain the same, but if you notice the drive cups only wear on the side driving your car/truck forward. By switching the drive cups, frontto rear or left to right, you have a nice straight edge on the forward drive side. This is only to get a little more life out of a drive cup. If you clean and rebuild your diffs regularly it only takes a few minutes to switch the cups.
