spektrum rx, hitec 7950 & 7954 with ip 2200mah lipo. no redulator, no problems as of yet. we run 3 7 min quals and 7 minute main indoors. run that in my truggy and buggy and it works great. the lipos cost 17.50 from rc mushroom. great packs.

so for a regulator something like this

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...tor-w-o-Switch

And the setup would be the Lipo into the regulator, the regulator into the switch and the switch still goes into the reciever?

Or I could run a Life battery and not use a regulator?

yes get that, and the regulator in the rx, switch between the reg and batt.

lipo-switch-regulator-Rx

I believe this is the way to run it. so that the switch turns off the regulator.

If not the reg will keep a load on the battery and run it down.

Could someone recommend a good setup, does the M-SPEC setup work well?

Read back through this thread, there are more than a few good set ups. Standard works well, but JP's set up is raved about.

I'm still on base settings and tweaking my driving first. When I feel I am getting to the limits of the Trug I'll start trying to improve it. So far it's my driving that is the limiting factor.

Lots of "handles like a bus" "too long and doesn't turn" talk else where. I have never found this and the 6T is just awesome in every respect so far for me.
