IMHO 2 gaskets or not if you havta add a shim after break-in,,, your just asking for trouble..
ok calm down didnt say your full of it,or you, your friends and your dog are wronge.lol like i said i to used two gaskets also but the mesh on the 6t is very important no matter which way one builds their truck in any region.

anyone having problems witht he brake cams not staying in the neutral position when letting off the throttle. When I let off the throttle the front brake cam wants to rest like the brake is on. There is nothing touching the cam to make it do this! Any help would be appreciated. thanks

I never worry about my diffs blowing, cause it's never happened to me before... How about you?
Seriously tho idk why ppl make a big deal about shimming the 6T diffs, if you build like i explained (2 gaskets, 1 shim) you have no worries....

i never used 2 gaskets .i had the 5r and 5t now 6 ,6t never blown a diff or leak. all that is important is when you assemble the pinion and center shaft is you squeeze both together at the same time tighten the grub screw and 1 or 2 shim crown side and check for side to side movement, check center shaft for in and out movement. simple .of course add plenty of grease to pinion and crown gear. muegn has the best diffs out there . i had about every truggy and buggy

i thought there must be some sort of play from the pionion and centre shaft?

is it why there is a pattern like score all around my diff?

Your pinion is either loosely tighten to the center shaft (moves in and out slightly), the pinion bearings are worn, or the bulkhead is worn out at the pinion bearings. One last one is the diffs bearings are worn out or shimming with too much play in the bulkhead.

what about the front pinion gear in the truggy my diffs shimed correctly all okey but the pinion gear tends to wear fast and will strip , i have seen a few mb6t truggies do this so far i caught mine befor this happened and replaced it but if i didnt it certainly wouldnt have lasted the 45min main ..

is there a fix for this or is it a problem on high bite tracks ?

you want NO PLAY.. you should press and hold the pinion in tight against the bearing while tightening the grub screw in your center shafts.. and yes thats why the pinion is hitting the diff cup.. it's walking back and forth as you get on and off power..

Allen, no hard feelings i kno i can be a bit abrasive at times when im feeling under attack.. But seriously i see more ppl having unnecessary problems with diffs and it frustrates me considering the way i do it seems foolproof..
